PK and Hue & Cry of Hindu Chauvinists

Last few days have kept me slightly occupied, initially it was the déjà vu of my upcoming 15 days vacation, which makes it the first in over an year and subsequently the works which were stashed before me tended to be cleared before i started chilling out. Other being the acquisition of my latest crush (MacBook Pro) for which called for research and comparisons in its own way, as most of us would do before purchasing an expensive gadget. Resultant there was not so much of social involvement from my end and therefore I couldn't keep a tab on Aamir Khan starring & perhaps the most awaited movie of 2014, PK. Thus I was not much aware about the furore that occurred in the aftermath of the movie. Today after successfully completing my 20 hrs-stretched-to-36 hrs-journey I reached my hometown & followed the stories covering all the useless unrest that has brewed up. I found out that it has done nothing but added to the already swelling TRP of the movie.

The film is raking moolah at box office and if stats are to be believed then the film becomes first cinema of independent India to amass 182 crores before entering into the 2nd week of its release. While people from all walks of life and followers of every religion have watched it with glee & perhaps enjoyed the movie too, some of the pseudo-intellectuals among us are busy politicising this movie. 

At the outset let me tell you that I am a Hindu and I am proud to be one. But staunchness is not my ilk, neither do I proclaim to be a secular. But that doesn't mean I have no regard for other religions. I don't get the point that why do people feel offended when someone's intent is confined to entertainment only. The self proclaimed godmen cum criminals like Nirmal baba and Swami Rampal have worked their ass out to create a despicable identity for themselves. These hate mongers don't think for a second before abducting a woman and subjecting her to physical torture and mental trauma. Some of them are behind bars while others have impregnable fortress to breach. If I were to opine then I would say that I just see this topic gain momentum because the protagonist is a muslim actor, that’s the reason they are bit too offended. I must say that you would die laughing if I told you that the reason behind all these anti PK slogans is that actor is running after a look alike of mythological hindu god, Lord Shiva. Suddenly the pro-hindu parties and the saffron cloak draped Babas feel their sentiments have been hurt. First it was Shankaracharya and today Baba Ramdev too expressed his displeasure against the message that this movie carries.

Dear Babas and other intellectuals I just hope you know that burning effigies and tearing posters will only add to the skyrocketing popularity of the movie. You are merely showcasing your much anticipated outrage against the makers of the movie because after ‘Oh my God’, this is another movie trying to expose your stark reality. Just because there was little pun intended you can’t claim a nation wide ban on the movie. After all they don't rob, loot, traumatise or rape in real life unlike you.

Good Governance Day: Not so Good

It is Xmas Day today and the day comes nothing less than a pleasant gift to we employees of private sector as it is a day off. It was 6 in the morning and not too surprisingly my alarm started hooting. I was too dumb to switch it off last night and my alarm being dumber woke me up despite knowing that it is a holiday. Oh! How would a machine differentiate between the right and the wrong, after all iPhones are not that smart? Half awake I fished for TV remote on my bed side and tuned in to Aaj Tak for morning news updates. Nothing new or unpleasant came up, as it would happen on most of the days. But the special story on Good Governance Day was news which wrenched me to the core, a self proclaimed, exaggerated and over boasted terminology which BJP banked on through the length of their invincible election campaign. Today more than 6 months into its regime, our government it seems has forgotten most of the things that were bragged in election manifesto. And bulk of impetus lies on bilateral deals, strengthening our foreign ties, infrastructure development (as the MoU signed with neighboring countries say). Apart from that there are few incorrigible practices by the saffron party that has turned me off lately. Yes! Meanwhile Mr. Modi is quite successfully transforming into a towering statesman but I don't see that comforting poor and helpless, that again doesn't stop our sisters and daughters from getting raped. They are fucked, mistreated and thrown like used condoms in trash can. Home ministry calls it an unfortunate event, pays its condolences and things are pushed towards oblivion. If a change has to occur it has to be leveraged right from the top. Come on PM! You needed a clear mandate so that no one could meddle you with your work and don't obstruct when you are up making vital decisions, we ushered you with that.  It's high time you stopped condemning those acts and took an unprecedented step to cure our country from this plague. Here I must acknowledge that

I see good governance day as false portrayal to show off unaccomplished things. In a way you are just replicating what congress party did during their regime. In your case, your created quite a stir with GHAR WAAPSI slogan, in which you called people to convert from Christian to Hindus, don't know by which means. Now you choose to accord a new meaning to Christmas day, and in the process bragging about own-selves. Please don't tell me that you are avenging your ancestors just because they were forced to convert during Mughal regime.

Let me be very clear here that I have nothing against Bajpayeeji being conferred Bharat Ratna which congress party is trying to make an issue out of. Somewhere they have got a bitter taste of their own medicine. Given by the way congress has been uprooted first from centre and then from their ruling states, it seems they on course for a long vacation. Meanwhile I am afraid that rather than attending to these grave concerns, BJP has set foot to make India a Hindu rashtra which they staunchly confer our country as. Again, I am not against this as well. Of course other major countries worldwide have banked on their inhabitants in majority who has propelled them to prosperity, and we being a Hindu country will act as befitting reply to those who have been practising communalism to de-fragment our nation. But for god's sake PM Sir please ensure that all our mothers and sisters are fearless when they step out of their houses' premise.

As for this day, I still feel overjoyed by a mere thought of secret Santa bringing gifts for me. Christmas Day fills me with immense comfort and bliss because of the festive aroma it carries with itself and encourages us to end our year on high. I savor ample of pleasant memories that come with Dec 25. Please don't accord new name to this pious day just to suffice your needs. If at all you want to do something, start from the ground zero. If you know what I mean! And Xmas sounds much better to me. Merry Christmas!! :)

An open letter to the assassins of humanity

Dear Taliban!

In the worst display of brutality, you surpassed all limits of inhumanity today. I never thought that vengeance would turn someone so blind that they would forget the fact that kids are an incarnation of god. and given that you guys are staunch theists, your Allah will never forgive you for this heinous act. Today you showcased that humanity has ceased from this world. You guys must be real thick skinned butchers whose hand didn't tremble for a second when you deliberately dragged those hiding toddlers from underneath their desks in the classroom and shot them in head. Didn't the thought of your little child cross your insane mind even for a second when you massacred those innocent kids? 

Oh! I forgot you are but fucking impotent who don't have any idea how good it feels to have a chirping kid around. Yes! You guys are retards too and are someone for whom words like love, peace, harmony and bliss don't exist. You know, that 2nd std. baby girl addressed you as 'Army Waale Uncle' when you entered her classroom wielding your AK-47, the fateful machine whose inventor too wouldn't have envisaged in his wildest of dreams that someday it would be used against the most beautiful and delicate creation of god. But today you shoved those bullets into their soft and pulpy body. I am sure that during that testing time even the rock steady machine would have cried! Those who survived, have been robbed of their friends with whom they shared books, lunch, and endless moments of bliss.  They won't go to school, they won't even wear that innocent carefree smile for a very long time. And how do you sick people think that it will solve your purpose. Oh boy! You just bred millions of your enemies in your clan and also became most despised creature on earth. 
I, for one, fail to measure the extent of illness of a person when he thinks that killing the kids would avenge them. Today you furthered the limit of atrocity by taking this rarer of the rarest step. May almighty accord peace to the departed souls of those kids and grant strength to their grieving parents.
I'm pretty sure you won't find solace even after your demise. I fall short of words today to express the mixed feeling of angst & grief. Today you reassured my ever rising belief that humanity has already ceased from this world, and you guys keep raising the bar with shallow brutality and callousness. 
Better are those atheists who at least don't kill in the name of religion.
