Love humans! Stay proud of the humanity!!

#ThoughtOfTheDay #SikhGenocide84

As the people around can't help but decry about the escalating intolerance in the air around, let us not forget the infamous genocide of '84 when thousand of Sikhs were brutally massacred. 31 years and counting & they are yet to get their share of justice! Numerous such cases are yet concealed in the dust coated sheets of stacked files, & we can't help but lament about the current ones! Our lives have been so crippled that we loved to see things that are deliberately being shown to us. Our memories have become shortlived & we like blaming the system or people of different caste, creed, sex, color and the classification of the cause of differences are endless.
I am still waiting for the day when we genuinely raise our voice for the cause rather than naming things as the political vendetta.

An open letter to the assassins of humanity

Dear Taliban!

In the worst display of brutality, you surpassed all limits of inhumanity today. I never thought that vengeance would turn someone so blind that they would forget the fact that kids are an incarnation of god. and given that you guys are staunch theists, your Allah will never forgive you for this heinous act. Today you showcased that humanity has ceased from this world. You guys must be real thick skinned butchers whose hand didn't tremble for a second when you deliberately dragged those hiding toddlers from underneath their desks in the classroom and shot them in head. Didn't the thought of your little child cross your insane mind even for a second when you massacred those innocent kids?

Oh! I forgot you are but fucking impotent who don't have any idea how good it feels to have a chirping kid around. Yes! You guys are retards too and are someone for whom words like love, peace, harmony and bliss don't exist. You know, that 2nd std. baby girl addressed you as 'Army Waale Uncle' when you entered her classroom wielding your AK-47, the fateful machine whose inventor too wouldn't have envisaged in his wildest of dreams that someday it would be used against the most beautiful and delicate creation of god. But today you shoved those bullets into their soft and pulpy body. I am sure that during that testing time even the rock steady machine would have cried! Those who survived, have been robbed of their friends with whom they shared books, lunch, and endless moments of bliss.  They won't go to school, they won't even wear that innocent carefree smile for a very long time. And how do you sick people think that it will solve your purpose. Oh boy! You just bred millions of your enemies in your clan and also became most despised creature on earth.
I, for one, fail to measure the extent of illness of a person when he thinks that killing the kids would avenge them. Today you furthered the limit of atrocity by taking this rarer of the rarest step. May almighty accord peace to the departed souls of those kids and grant strength to their grieving parents.
I'm pretty sure you won't find solace even after your demise. I fall short of words today to express the mixed feeling of angst & grief. Today you reassured my ever rising belief that humanity has already ceased from this world, and you guys keep raising the bar with shallow brutality and callousness.
Better are those atheists who at least don't kill in the name of religion.

I DREAMT OF A WORLD DEVOID OF RELIGION

Yesterday, I had a dream. A dream that's tough to relate & far from reality. Something that doesn't cost anything and voices a cause. Moreover, they say dreams lead to reality.
In my case, I envisioned the world away of religion, mankind free of malice & a place bereft of deities. Today, one can affirm that humanity stands on the cusp of crucifixion. And I wouldn’t seek apology if by I sounded profane.
Millions of caste, sect and religion that has chopped our beautiful world into fragments, stand testimony to my accusation. Game of blood bath between the followers of Hindu- Muslim, Shia- Sunni, Muslim- Jew, Christian- Jew occur on daily basis. Then there are other ferocious participants living in the remote areas of Africa where kids use AK-47 & rocket launchers as their pillows. Certainly they enjoy playing high voltage match of this ilk & have smeared the face of the globe with blood & intend to continue it in the longer run. It is the same blood which we claim to be a cohesive agent that binds us together to one bond called brotherhood.
These pseudo proclamations immediately fade away into the oblivion when we hear of all the bloodshed taking place in the middle-east. Its intensity does vary but at the end of the day, terror thrives in these places. Some of the prominent centers of action are Syria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, a few African countries. Whereas Israel & Palestine are the most dedicated of the lot where it seems people will relax only after they completely demolish their neighbour.
I tell you, ever since I gained my senses, I have been hearing this Israel-Gaza brawl through AIR News and TV. I recall those days when I wouldn’t understand a single thing when Papa used to affix our grand old Phillips radio on his cushion, glued to his ear soon as the clock indicated 8:15 pm. It was time for the BBC news from London to start. Back then all I could make out was that, there is a strip called Gaza where the two Muslim & Jew countries named Palestine & Israel are breathing down one other’s neck just to annihilate each other.
It has been 18 long years since then & today things have changed but the driving force behind their never ending scuffle remains constant, and that being profuse hatred. Gradually things of global significance have pulled my attention and today it is not only a matter of land dispute, rather it is a communal duel between Muslim-Jew. Well as their cleric and holy book says these religions do have ample of ideological differences and I won’t touch that withering nerve to differentiate between just and unjust but given the kind of dubious situation they find themselves in, it is really sad to see that no one is safer in the premises of these countries anymore. People are driven by a maniac called anger.
Yesterday I found an appalling picture of an infant's body smeared with blood in my feed which was shared by some sympathizing soul, the kid was hunted down by a stray drone and it really hit me hard. If that was anything less, then the ongoing conflict between Iraqi administration and ISIS militants who want the Sunni regime to take over the reign of Iraq and have apparently crossed the farthest limit of inhumanity, posted the clips and footages of their brutal live execution. The nature of these acts varied from the throats being slit opened with a dagger to the skull being rip opened by an AK-47 bullet. And in the process completing one of the most dreadful execution anyone would ever think of.
These acts hold testimony to the fact that humanity has been pushed to the deepest of trenches. Hundreds of Nigerian girls who have been abducted by a group of  Bokoharam militants have been subjected to forceful conversion into Islam and those who objected has been brought down ruthlessly. On the other side, there is rebel group of Ukraine who have waged their inhuman protest against the monopolistic approach of Russia.
Few weeks ago a Malaysian plane carrying 100s of people from all over the world was crossing the disputed airspace over Ukraine and quite shockingly it was brought down to ashes by a missile fired by these miscreants. Even worse there were many unclaimed corpses lying in the disputed area and were left to decompose. The incidence of such ilk will be the last thing a person travelling by aeroplane would expect. As these series of continuous onslaught which costs numerous of human lives in bargain goes on, social media and TV reporters on the contrary are busy quenching their thirst for TRPs and publicity. They have the luxury of publicizing the images of those mutilated body of demised kids and make special stories out of them for their prime time.
Anything from morphed videos to snaps, we are so engrossed in gaining publicity with our posts and in the process forget basic values. There is a serious need to stop this mayhem by hook or crook, as these nerve jolting images can leave anyone in tears and abolish the doctrines of ethics and humanity. But, in the end, all we care about is TRPs, likes and comments. What a poor breed have we become?
UN and other big daddies have done their part by proclaiming their seniority and threatening to apply sanctions on Israel. But do we see a cease-fire in the near future? I guess not, the reason being their political gains and personal motives behind that.
We have become smart enough to alter the writs and commands of holy books and have kept rational ideologies at bay. Tell me why would Bible, Gita, or Koran preach slaughter and violence, but since we have trained our mind to give way to such ugly thoughts and keep ourselves on toes to pounce on some Muslim or Jew standing next to us just to show our muscle, I seriously denounce these acts of indecency and lastly this whole concept of religionism.
Despite acknowledging the fact that religion has a pivotal role to play in our today’s existence I strongly despise this concept just because there has been ample of bloodshed around because of it. Stop this and find more than half of the problems being addressed. Let all these dogmas and conviction be abolished so that an Allah, a Jesus or a Ram wouldn’t wince in pain when he sees his most sophisticated creation muddling his name.

Have we made it… At last ??

When one of my friends messaged me a picture on Watsapp on 1st of January 2014 which was an assortment of dates in the form of Fibonacci, Palindromes and unusual pattern suffixing and prefixing the weekend holidays, mostly sought after by a 10-6 working employee of IT sector, it left me quite bemused as these hypothetical stuffs hold sense to me and the life I lead, but the thing which grabbed my attention at last was the line which read that calendar of 2014 resembles that of 1947. Apparently the quoted incident is a thing of past but somewhere a part of my smaller brain got occupied with the last phrase and when the results of 16th Lok Sabha elections were out I had all reasons in the world to fathom the foresaid. Infact I confess that I haven’t even checked for its legitimacy, but given the series of pleasant and metamorphic events unfolding and a heartening present advocating the vibrant future, I concede that I've started believing in those unusual forarded messages.
When we (Indians particularly) entered 2014 a sense of euphoria accompanied us along into the new year. Perhaps it was too long that we licked our wounds and were ready for one of the biggest change ever occurred in the peninsula after independence. Yes finally it came down to one man show when BJP announced Mr. Narendra Modi as prime ministerial candidate. As I write this he has been coronated as 15th Prime Minister of the union of India. Words evade me when I merely ponder over narrating the exciting times, the war of words, bounty of murky comments and allegations hurled against one another and politicians who have virtually grown that thick membrane around, paying deaf ears to them. But this time around an edge was always there with the saffron wielders and even though everyone knew that to outdo someone as powerful as Gandhis, who have become immune to staying in power with passing decades , they needed a prominent mascot which can be flashed in their election campaign and who else could have been a better bet than the person himself who endured all their scrutiny and tantrums for the past decade yet came out unscathed amidst all those prying eyes. He chose to hit on their lean patch and expose the unexposed realities. Therefore, I at last feel no hesitation in paying the much deserved tribute to the man himself who was nucleus of 16th general elections, Hail MODI !!!
First thing first, a noticeable development which couldn’t escape my apprehension was the grand congress that took place at the Rashtrapati Bhawan courtyard to elevate the incoming PM. Outline of the event remained the unprecedented gathering present at the ceremony representing all walks of life, be it art, science, cinema, spiritual leaders, politicians (of course they were the most prominent), or foreign delegates. It somehow resembled our conventional wedding ceremony where guests become testimony to the union of two souls. This event too was a testimony to the most famous and eye catching swearing in ceremony of the PM of the union of India. And as far as I and some of my friends are concerned, we never watched the result declaration or for that matter swearing-in ceremony with such anxiety. But the story this time around was entirely different as we were subjected to watch the gala event by a curious self. Truly, it was beheld with so much of excitement and glee. However it was the critical part of my cerebellum that tossed in a few question like : what was the need after all of making such prodigal arrangements and flushing in such huge sum of money. Plus it raised that 1 % security issue with such a big crowd amassed out there. But then it was our PM’s oath taking ceremony and for the first time a vibrant character who happens to be one common man among us was at the paramour, which provided a liberal overtone to it.

Yes, this election will go down into the record books for the kind of battering the veteran party received, also known as grand old man of India, a party that saw India to its glory and helped her attain the much needed independence from the Britishers. Also this elections will be remembered for being such lopsided contest when INC were reduced to such meagre numbers that they can’t even make a formidable opposition, and we may see a coalition of opposition for the lower house. This election will be remembered for vengeance, wrath, active participation of the people from the largest democracy of the world who shed the comforts of their mansion only to embrace the scorching 40 degrees plus temperature outside and voted for a better change, a change which was desperately sought, they voted by rising above all the barriers of caste, creed, language, and hierarchy only to choose the man from a modest background, whose deeds spoke more than anything, who himself is a gizmo and has connected more efficiently with the youth, and an efficient manager who maneuvered his resources near to perfection. A well versed orator who is so spontaneous, witty and well versed.
We all know the stark truth behind the demise of the congress empire, so I won’t waste my energy probing and analyzing them, rather I will talk about the challenges posed and the to dos. The clear mandate only makes things tougher and sets up a higher difficulty level for the NDA government led by the man sporting a billowed 56 inch chest. There won’t be furrowed brows and muscle flexing neighbors anymore, as unfortunately in past decade we surrendered the fate of our country into the hands of a person who was merely a pawn into the hands of a mistress leading a petticoat government. India is here to espouse the fundamentals of camaraderie and preach goodwill gesture amongst its boundary sharing acquaintance, and what could have been better than our premier inviting theirs’ to the swearing in ceremony where all the premiers of the SAARC and other members of subcontinent made it a beautiful spectacle with their presence at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. In a way which proclaimed the kind of foreign relations and policies the newly formed government would exercise. Making a goodwill gesture Pakistan and Sri Lanka set some of our fishermen free held captive by them. Further strengthening bilateral ties and engagement over high level diplomacy have been the so called important outcomes of the meet. A discourse on these vital issues on day 1 of his 5 year tenure underlines the fact that, here is a statesman in making who will pioneer wisdom and instill full proof governance in our country.
Next in the series comes fair bit of realization and working on the more grievous concerns plus things that has eluded him so far. According to the stats BJP got 33% of the total votes that were casted across India, what about the rest 67%, I would have him ponder and re realize the things which have been overlooked so far.
Having said that, bridging this prolonged gap and instilling love, trust and lost faith among the Muslims will be a task cut out for the PM.
When I happened to watch most of his interviews given to prominent reporters and TV channels of the country I noticed him emphasizing on quick upliftment of handful of cities in northern India which will be a breather to the national capital. The places included prominent cities from Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal, Orissa and Assam. Converting them into well equipped smart cities will be another serious challenge posed. Another prominent subject of his concern has been Indian Railways which happens to be the biggest source of employment as well as revenue in the country. And it calls for some serious attention. A better connectivity by means of sophisticated trains among the top cities should be in the list of to dos.
We have already had ample of money and food distributing schemes in our country but I am afraid that the fund entitled for grains are actually making the accounts of Swiss bank beneficiary swell rather than reaching the needy hands. Task at hand will be to ensure zero tolerance in corruption, well functioning of the huge schemes and resource allocation in proper place. Procurement of vandalized and deserted mines and seeing them to proper functionality will be another issue to be paid attention to.
Amidst all the talks of development, infrastructure, investment and growth, a thing of grievous concern will be seeing the article 370 off peacefully and much deservedly, which has made the residents of J&K feel like an alien in their own country even after 67 years of independence. It has eluded state and its citizens of many rights which rest of India enjoys authoritatively. Induction of uniform civil code where all the religions will be tried under one law shall be another uphill task for the UPA government.
With everything said and pondered, the newly formed government has started Mekong headlines with some prominent roadmaps to the development. But it will be too early to take a call on it. Blabbering alone hasn't seen any mortal to the path of glory. And India shall wait to see another renaissance take place.

GENOCIDE IN THE BACKDROP OF PROSPERITY

India is developing at a brisk pace & today we are being conferred as an energy efficient nation. Having said that I strongly believe that with great power comes greater vulnerability. Testimony to the foresaid, India along with Russia, Italy, London & Spain have the distinction of being called a country to have incurred self-inflicted disasters. While some of the accidents occurred, some were incurred. While countless people died, their coming generations suffered terribly.

In last few weeks I have come across some appalling articles, which got featured in newspapers & other social media platforms. The articles were specially dedicated to the problems of common mass & the way ignorant government has been ducking it as always.

I would start with one of the worst disasters of India, which took place in the city of Bhopal. An adversity from which the city is still recuperating & people living there are yet to overcome the demons of their past. Yes, I am talking about the leakage of MIC form Union Carbide factory, a fertilizer manufacturing facility on the night of Dec 3,1984. MIC, which is believed to be one of the most deadly chemicals that ever existed, escaped into the atmosphere on the fateful night. The layer of gas shrouded one quarter of the city & those who came in its contact died one of the most brutal deaths that any human would ever imagine of. Those living in the nearby areas were reduced to corpse within a few hours. People succumbed to vital organ failure & serious respiratory complications. Such was its intensity that even today a newborn comes into the world with physical deformity. Read more about the Bhopal Gas Tragedy here.

The city of Bhopal has come a long way since then, the only thing that hasn’t changed is the place and the ill effect that it casts over the citizens residing there. A recent survey conducted in Bhopal doesn’t augur well for the city. Little do they know that the remains of harmful mercury particles which settled down on the ground & further got soaked by the underground water has now contaminated a major portion of water that is supplied in the city. The unaware people have consumed the same water & have infected their body mechanism in the long run. If that is anything less, the obtuse government has turned a blind eye towards them, thus leading them to a life-threatening situation. The newborns in the adjoining areas inherit congenital disorders and infections. Few NGOs have tried to voice their suppressed resistance by exposing the genuine issue & bringing it to the notice of those accountable for their wellbeing but a concrete solution still looks bleak.

The other story is about UCIL (Uranium Corporation Of India Limited). UCIL is located in Jadugoda district of mineral rich Jharkhand which houses major chunk of mineral resources found in India. We know that uranium is a mineral of utmost utility when it comes to generation of nuclear energy & production of power. In the pursuit of development the poor laborers working day & night in those dark trenches have been continuously ignored. Uranium being radioactive substance dissipates the harmful particle into the respiratory system of those who come in its contact, thus reducing their lifespan of the recipient signally & also affect their coming generations. People die because of lung cancer & other forms of skin disorders. Their children have been nursing dreadful diseases like cerebral palsy, deformity, mental illness & limb disorder, most of which are congenital disorders. But I guess the MDs of these conglomerate hardly bother about their safety.

The last phrase of the story is about KMML (Kerala metals and minerals limited); here the industrial effluents have contaminated the area in the 500 meters reach from its nexus. An initiative taken by a news channel unveiled the reality of the place. While some of the activists from the local areas have been waging their lone crusade but it took a special report from them to make the government acknowledge the reality. The contaminated water has spread to the tube-wells where the pH level was measured too acidic to drink. The govt had confirmed that an area of 150 meter was affected & would be taken over anytime but the reality check revealed that 500 meters of the area was obsoleted & remained instrumental in spreading deadly health hazards. Skin disorders like cracked legs; sore skin & burnt skin had been discovered among the inhabitants. Their woes were multiplied by their drying paddy fields. The government finally put a full stop to their miseries by confirming that 500 acres of the area in the vicinity of KMML will be taken over by the state run enterprise & people will be relocated to a safer place.

These major problems gives us an insight to the reality & there are many such issues across the length & width of our vast land which even fail to tickle the government’s ears. But the million dollar question that arise here is, ‘When are we going to value human lives above other material benefits?’
